Over 7.5% of Primary Voters visited Maryland’s Interactive Voter Information Website

HOLLYWOOD, Fla., September 22, 2010/PRNewswire/ — eVoter (http://www.eVoter.com/MD), After the September 14th primary elections, eVoter.com (www.eVoter.com) is Maryland’s leading interactive voter information website. Over 60,000 Maryland households visited eVoter actively looking for information on candidates, polling places and organizational endorsements, which is over 7.5% of the total primary voter turnout – assuming only one voter per household.

eVoter.com (www.eVoter.com) allows Maryland voters to generate an interactive sample ballot, view candidate profiles and organizational endorsements and then print off their selections as a voting guide. With polling place locations and other features, eVoter.com is a comprehensive online resource. Candidates can connect with these motivated voters by purchasing a customizable online profile and endorsing organizations can widely publicize their candidate endorsements on eVoter.

Not only did a sizable percentage of voters visit eVoter, the site analytics also show that they used the features and really did their research. In total, voters viewed over four pages and spent over four minutes on the site. This means that, on average, they not only found their polling places, but also viewed the ballot and at least one profile. About 55% came on the last three days of the election, with 33% of the total on Election Day itself.

“Individual candidate statistics bear this out,” noted Adam Kravitz, CEO of eVoter. “For example, in the Calvert County Commissioners’ race, two Republican candidates who had profiles, Susan Shaw and Evan Slaughenhoupt both received well over 300 unique visitors, which is 10% of their total vote. Democrat Ariana Kelly had almost 300 page views which was not only over 5% of her vote, but a large percentage of her margin of victory in a close race in the 16th House of Delegates District. These statistics are consistent across all our candidates with profiles. It’s impossible to say how eVoter persuaded voters – that’s up to the candidates and their message. What we can say is that between 5-10% of a candidate’s voters not only viewed their profile, but spent on average well over a minute reading it – and the more detailed the profile, the longer the time spent.”
